Boro to update 30+ year old master plan


The Borough Council passed a master plan update resolution at its June 17 meeting.
The act authorizes Gregory Associates of Fort Lee to reexamine and redo the three decades old document. The whole job is expected to be done before year’s end, according to Borough Administrator Kevin Galland.
A master plan is a future-oriented outline for general land use within the borough. The purpose is to provide clear guidance to the planning board and town on the most suitable development.
According to Galland, the initiative consists of two tasks. The first is to perform a reexamination of the master plan’s zoning elements. That task is required every six years by state law. The second is to compile an entirely new plan, synthesizing previous reexaminations done over the past 30 years. That endeavor is long overdue.

Fine Grind serves up new slate of entertainment

Anyone looking for an escape from the daily grind need look no further than Fine Grind – A Coffee Bar, with two locations in Little Falls. The store at 7 Paterson Avenue is known as the downtown store. The other offering is located at 101 Newark Pompton Turnpike (Route 23).

ile away warm summer days, Fine Grind owners Jon and Rhonda Mallek have a wide variety of entertainment on tap.
Local artists will be featured at the downtown store, with the exhibits to be changed every six weeks. The current artist on display is John Veteri. The Fine Grind held a reception for him to introduce his work last week.
For music aficionados, the Fine Grind’s Fine Tuned series offers a rotation of several local musicians.
