The American Legion Post #174 is holding its all you can eat Sunday breakfast on the second Sunday of every month. The menu consists of scrambled eggs, pancakes, home fries, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, English muffins, toast, butter and jelly, coffee, tea, and orange juice. Hours are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and donation is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. There will be a 50/50 to be called off around 11 a.m. All proceeds go to the various charities that the Legion is involved with.

The Knights of Columbus of Immaculate Heart of Mary Council #10206, Wayne, is selling copies of Entertainment 2008 books. Each book contains hundreds of two-for-one discounts for fine dining, family dining, fast food, movies, sports activities, special attractions, hotels and much more. There is a 50 percent savings on almost everything. The cost of the Northern and Central New Jersey editions are $25. The Wayne PAL, located on North Cove Road off Parish Drive, hosts antique and collectible shows with over 140 vendors on Sundays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $1 for adults, free for children. Upcoming dates are Jan. 6, 20. For more information, call 973-595-5041.

Strengthen Our Sisters has launched a campaign to increase awareness about domestic violence in the area. Special materials are being developed with the help of the NCVRW Community Awareness Project including brochures, information cards in Spanish and English, posters and bumper stickers. These will be distributed for free at events, through police departments, agencies, churches and organizations. Homeless Tails, Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer run organization dedicated to animal rescue and welfare. It has no shelter location. Animals are fostered by volunteers in their homes until a permanent home becomes available. Friends of Wayne Animals hold adoptions every Saturday at Rock Ledge Garden Center, Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne from 12 to 3 p.m. FOWA saved over 900 pets last year, and is continually looking to provide for homeless animals until a suitable home can be found. S.T.A.R.T., Save The Animals Rescue Team, is a non-profit humane organization that rescues stray, abandoned, injured, and abused cats and dogs. Animals rescued are examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and placed in one of our volunteer foster homes. Since S.T.A.R.T. does not have a shelter facility, these animals remain in our foster care until they are adopted. S.T.A.R.T. is always seeking foster homes. They pay for all expenses associated with being a foster home (supplies, food, medical expenses, etc.).
