School No. 2 welcomes new pupils
(by Tricia Czornomor - September 09, 2008)
Little Falls School No. 2 got off to a great start by hosting a "Kindergarten Tea" prior to the first day back to school.
Executive board members of the Little Falls School 2/3 Parent Teacher Association (PTA) together with School No. 2 Principal Michael Ryan put together an afternoon filled with information, guidance and question answering for many families joining the School No. 2 family.
Whether for new friends or old friends who had another child coming on board as a kindergartner, the event was just as useful to everyone in attendance. It helped prepare the parents and the children for their brand new adventure as students.
Getting started, Ryan greeted visitors with a welcome speech and video presentation explaining what should be expected during the school year.
"The staff and I look forward to working with you and your child," he said. "The start of the new school year is a wonderful experience. It provides us with the opportunity to rededicate ourselves to the future - our children."
The teachers were on board to meet and greet the families and the children inviting them to tour the school and spend some time in their new classrooms. The children learned about the many exciting things they will be doing during this school year.
As talking, mingling and question asking was encouraged, refreshments were served and the atmosphere was staged so that everyone felt that they gathered for a social tea.
