Mario De Vita

WEST PATERSON - Mario De Vita, 88, of West Paterson died Sept. 14, 2008.

De Vita was born in Rome, Italy and came to the United States in 1955 settling in Clifton before moving to West Paterson in 1964. De Vita served in the Italian Army during World War II. He was the owner of Mario's Trading Post, Passaic, for 30 years and was a member of the Italian American Family Association in Clifton.

Husband of Ann (nee Mulick). Father of Rita De Roos of West Paterson. Grandfather of Joseph De Roos.

Arrangements: Marrocco Memorial Chapel, Clifton.

 

Teresa Mascuch

TOTOWA - Teresa N. (nee Lombardo) Mascuch, 82, of Totowa, died Sept. 18, 2008.

Born in Passaic, she lived in Passaic, before moving to Totowa. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa.

Wife of the late Richard Mascuch. Mother of Richard Mascuch Jr., Judy Seigel and her husband Jan of Franklin Lakes, Rory Schimpf of Fair Lawn, and Jason Mascuch of Waldwick. Sister of Rose Cataffo of Totowa, Johanna Andrews and her husband Richard of Totowa, Anna Lombardo of Wallington and the late Josephine Josipowich, Stephen, Angelo and Sal Lombardo. Sister-in-law of Jean Lombardo. Grandmother of Margaret, Emily, Jonas, Amanda, Luke, Zachary, Jake, Chelsea, and Benjamin. Great grandmother of James and Phiona.

Frank Muzik Jr.

WEST PATERSON - Frank Muzik Jr., 85, died September 19, 2008.

He was born in Passaic and had lived in Garfield, Clifton, West Paterson and Denville before moving to Savanna, Ga. 18 years ago.

Muzik joined the Navy just out of high school and served with the Navy in the Pacific Theater of the war. He became an expert on Sperry gyroscopes and other aviation instruments. He was discharged from the Navy in 1945. During his naval service, he was stationed in Panama and Ecuador (Galapagos Islands) as an air crewman flying PBY patrol planes, guarding the Panama Canal.

He was employed at Heyden Chemical Company in Garfield from 1946-1958. He joined the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro from 1958- 1968 representing them at various Air Force bases throughout the U.S. and Europe. He then joined Singer Kearfott Aerospace Corporation in Wayne until his retirement in 1988. He worked for 30 years in the defense industry as an avionics engineer.

During his retirement he enjoyed his home in Savannah, Ga. where he joined the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway, Island, Ga., played golf and enjoyed art.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Evelyn (nee Sienon) Muzik; daughter Jeanie Crone and her husband Wolfgang of Bert, France; son Douglas Muzik of Kennesaw, Ga. and sister Lorraine Bremer of Wayne

John Zisa

WAYNE - John J. Zisa, 82, died Sept. 20, 2008.

Born in Hackensack on Jan. 2, 1926, Zisa, a resident of Wayne, served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed as an electronics technician for Bell Labs in Whippany for 35 years until he retired in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Council, a member of the Telephone Pioneers, and a parishioner at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, Wayne.

Zisa is survived by his wife of 46 years, Angelina (nee Burrafato); sons John Zisa and Thomas Zisa; and daughter Maria Zisa.
