Fred Crane
WAYNE -
Fred E. “Buddy” Crane, 84, of Wayne, died Sept. 23, 2008. 

He was born and grew up in Bayonne, and lived in Rochelle Park for 33 years with his wife and family before retiring to Cape Coral, Fla. for 15 years, then moving to Wayne five years ago.

Before his retirement in 1989 he was employed as an electrician for 65 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 164 in Paramus. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bayonne and Jersey City and in his leisure time, would be found on his boat “My Buddy.” 

Surviving are his wife of 60 years Muriel (nee Stillwell) Crane; daughter Gail Mesagaes of Wayne; and grandchildren Jonathan and Brieanna Mesagaes of Wayne. 

He was predeceased by sisters Mildred Hansen and Ruth Woeckener.

Mary Kopcha
WAYNE -
Mary “Marion” B. (nee Bykowsky) Kopcha, 92, of Wayne, died Sept. 27, 2008. 

Kopcha was born at the family residence in Jersey City, as it was customary and natural to be born at home in those days. She had a firm grasp on her Greek Catholic faith and was a long time parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus. 

She took a job as an assembler at the Radio Corporation of America in Jersey City to support her family. The company later moved to Edison and she continued her work career at that new location finally retiring in 1978. She was used to being active so after retiring she became a crossing guard for Secaucus and helped school children cross the street safely from 1978 – 1983. 

She volunteered at the Meadowlands Memorial Hospital in Secaucus and for Deborah Heart and Lung Association of Browns Mills. 

Wife of 45 years to the late John Kopcha (1984); mother of Judy Radd and her husband Raymond of Hackettstown and Michael Kopcha and his wife Jean of Wayne; grandmother of six grandchildren and great grandmother of eight.

Mary Mardo 

LITTLE FALLS - Mary A. (nee Gerro) Mardo, 90, of Little Falls, died Sept. 22, 2008. 

Born in Summit, she lived in Summit, then in Haledon before moving to Little Falls. She was a homemaker. Mardo was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the John Raad American Legion Post and was an avid gardener and dancer. 

Wife of Raymond E. Mardo Sr. of Little Falls. Mother of Victor Mardo and his wife Carol of Lincoln Park, Raymond E. Mardo Jr. and his wife Judi of West Paterson, Mary Ann McClintock and her husband Chris of Franklin Lakes, and Virginia Novak and her husband Chris of Little Falls. Grandmother of Michelle O'Neill, Lisa Diaz, Renee Hickerson, Mia King; Jesse and Jordan Novak. Great grandmother of Michael Velez, Raschel and Brielle Facciollio, Thalia Diaz, and Grace O'Neill.

Robert Moore III 

WAYNE - Robert C. Moore, III, 74, died Sept. 23, 2008. 

Moore was born in Paterson, and lived in Wayne and was formerly of Paterson. He was a licensed funeral director and owner of Moore's Home for Funerals, Wayne. Moore was a 1953 graduate of the American Academy of Embalming and Mortuary Research, N.Y., and a New Jersey licensed funeral director since 1953. 

His memberships included the National Funeral Director's Association - public relations committee and Heritage Club; NJ State Funeral Director's Association - past president; Passaic County Funeral Director's Assoc. - past president; Wayne General Hospital past secretary and board of director; Irving Savings & Loan Association board of directors; past director of Wayne Chamber of Commerce; Paterson Chamber of Commerce member and more recently the Wayne Chamber; past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Wayne Rotary Club; past president of the Charter Club of Paterson; former director of Wayne Senior Citizens Edward Sisco Village Housing; member of the BPO Elks #2181, Wayne; Hamilton Club, Paterson; Wayne - Oakland Radio Control Club past president; and Lionel Century Club, National Model Train Association. 

He is survived by his wife Barbara (Joan) Bosland; sons Robert C. Moore IV and his wife Patricia and Guy C. Moore; and daughters Lisa Courter and her husband Ken of Wanaque and Dayna Montaina and her husband Guy; grandchildren Barbara and Michele Castania, Robert C. Moore V, Jackie Courter, Aaron Moore, Logan and Colby Montania.

Mae Renz
WAYNE -
Mae V. (nee Verduin) Renz, 99, of Wayne, died Sept. 22, 2008. 

She was born in Paterson and had lived in Totowa before moving to Wayne 63 years ago. 

Renz spent her formative years in Paterson and went to Eastside High School graduating with the class of 1927. She was involved with athletics at the school and won many medals and awards in her school days. 

Renz was employed as a secretary at the Farrell Monument Company in Paterson for many years before her retirement in 1946. She loved sports and enjoyed ice skating, skiing, fishing and swimming. 

Surviving are son Arthur Jay Renz and his wife Dawn of Wayne. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Arthur John Renz, in 1991, and brothers Ralph, Albert and Elwood Renz.

Marion Willer 

WAYNE/TOTOWA - Marion B. (nee Barrowclough) Willer, 77, died Sept. 19, 2008. 

Willer was born in Paterson, and lived in Wayne for 40 years and was formerly of Totowa. She retired from Prudential Insurance Co, Wayne, where she was a payroll administrator. She was a member of Totowa United Methodist Church, Totowa and the Order of the Eastern Star, Little Falls.

She is survived by her husband Charles; sons Glenn and David and daughter-in-law Beth Willer; and grandchildren Ashley, Megan, Bradley and Rebecca. 

She was predeceased by her son Fred and brothers Arthur and William.
